For over 25 years I have had the pleasure of working in the Financial Services industry as both a Financial Advisor as well as a manager, overseeing the development and mentoring of new financial professionals. In reflecting over these years, assisting clients with understanding and working toward the achievement of their financial goals has always been the most satisfying to me.

Early in my career, while helping my father prepare for his federal employee retirement, I realized that federal employees have great benefits, however, these benefits and the options they afford Federal employees are also very complex. That was the time that I realized that federal employees could greatly benefit with proper guidance in evaluating and implementing appropriate strategies that would best align with their personal goals.
I enjoy reviewing the complex federal government benefits and educating my clients on their best options. To further my knowledge, I completed a FedED* education program designed to provide greater knowledge on the many intricacies of guiding federal employees with their benefit decisions.

Generally, the most critical decisions are made just prior to or immediately after the retirement of a federal employee. However, it is generally best to begin planning several years in advance of one’s projected retirement date.

Some of the key decision areas that I assist federal employees with include: retirement planning, estate planning strategies, wealth management and understanding financial risk management. After a thorough review of each individual’s situation, I, along with our team of professionals at Ascend Planning & Consulting, LLC, provide personalized strategies.
